Litha has always felt different to me.
The Summer Solstice marks the longest day and the shortest night of the year. It is the moment when the Sun reaches the height of its power, illuminating the world in its fullest expression. And yet, hidden within that brilliance is a sacred mystery: from this day forward, the light slowly begins its return toward darkness.
There is something profoundly beautiful about that.
A reminder that every season has its turning. Every ascent has its descent. Every moment of fullness carries within it the seed of transformation.
As I began journeying for this year’s ritual, I found myself returning again and again to the presence of the Sun King—the ancient sovereign of midsummer, crowned in light and seated upon the Solar Throne at the height of his reign.
Not as a figure demanding worship.
But as a living embodiment of illumination, vitality, wisdom, and truth.
For many who walk a Hellenic path, these solar mysteries may also be experienced through Apollo, Bringer of Light, Lord of Prophecy, Healing, Music, and Sacred Knowing. While they are not one and the same, I found their currents intertwining throughout this work, each carrying the same invitation:
To step into the light and see clearly.
During this Summer Solstice rite, we will journey beyond the ordinary world into a liminal landscape of ancient standing stones, golden fields, wildflowers, and sacred fire. Together we will approach the Solar Realm, carrying the questions, uncertainties, and crossroads that have accompanied us through the first half of the year.
There, before the throne of the Sun King and within the current of solar illumination, we will seek clarity.
Not prediction.
Not manifestation.
But clarity.
What is flourishing within us?
What truth have we been avoiding?
What wisdom is ready to emerge?
And what path wishes to unfold during the waning half of the solar year?
As always, this will be a pre-recorded ritual experience delivered directly to your inbox, allowing you to enter the work in your own time and sacred space.
The Solstice is a threshold.
A brief and luminous pause in the turning of the Wheel.
I hope you’ll join me there.
