Lammas - Honouring the First Harvest Ritual

As the Wheel of the Year turns once more, we arrive at Lammas, or Lughnasadh known as the First Harvest.

This is a season of golden fields, freshly baked bread, and the quiet satisfaction of seeing the first fruits of our labour begin to emerge. It is a moment to pause before the rush toward autumn, to gather what has ripened, and to offer our gratitude for the blessings, lessons, and transformations that have carried us to this point in the year.

Traditionally, Lughnasadh honours the Celtic god Lugh, the master craftsman, warrior, and keeper of many gifts. Communities would gather to celebrate the first harvest, bake bread from the newly gathered grain, feast together, and give thanks for the abundance of the Earth. Yet beneath these celebrations lies a deeper invitation.

This sabbat asks us to reflect.

What have we nurtured since the return of the light?

What dreams have begun to take root?

What abundance has quietly appeared in our lives that we have forgotten to acknowledge?

And what are we now being called to cultivate as the days slowly begin their journey toward autumn?

This Lammas, the spirits invite us into a new Ritual Journey. Together we will step beyond the ordinary world and into a sacred landscape where the spirit of the First Harvest unfolds before us. Beneath the blessings of Lugh, we will honour what has ripened, give thanks for the abundance already present in our lives, and seek guidance for the season that now begins to emerge.

As always, this will be a pre-recorded ritual experience, allowing you to enter the work in your own time, within your own sacred space.
