The Ancestors Seven-Day Ritual Candle was created as a sacred bridge between the world of the living and those who came before us.

This is a candle for remembrance, but it is also a candle for communication. Light it when calling upon ancestors of blood or spirit, when seeking their wisdom and protection, when tending an ancestral altar, or when opening the way for deeper spirit and necromantic work.

It may also be burned as a vigil candle during times of death and transition. When someone we love is nearing the end of life or actively crossing the veil, the Ancestors candle can be lit with the intention of bringing peace to the dying, strength to those keeping vigil, and safe passage to the soul as it moves through the threshold.

For those who are grieving, it becomes a flame of remembrance—a place to speak a name, tell a story, offer a prayer, or simply sit in the presence of someone who is no longer physically here.

The Revamped Seven-Day Collection

Each candle in the newly revamped Venus Moon Emporium Seven-Day Collection has been redesigned to become more than a dressed candle. The label itself has become part of the ritual.

The Ancestors candle now carries its own Invocation to the Ancestors, along with guidance describing the purpose of the candle and the different ways it may be incorporated into your practice. You may follow the invocation as written or allow it to become the opening point for your own ancestral prayers and conversations.

Each candle is also ritually dressed with materia corresponding specifically to its purpose.

The Ancestors candle is topped with graveyard dirt, connecting the flame symbolically to the dead, the earth and the ancestral realm. Rather than using a conventional incense blend for this candle, I chose graveyard dirt because of its long association with spirit work, remembrance and communion with the dead.

As the candle burns, the flame becomes the vigil—the light kept between worlds.
